Three burglars who robbed a 95-year-old pensioner were ordered to watch a video of their victim saying their crime made her suicidal. There had been an untidy search and a purse containing cash, bank cards and family photos had been stolen from under her bed while she slept. He added: ‘A screwdriver was found on the floor with a DNA connection to Mr Harrison. The court also heard how Harrison committed a second burglary a month later, also in Newquay, where he broke into a detached bungalow before leaving empty handed. He also told them it was important they could see the gravity of their crimes. Mr Lee went on to explain how it appeared as though the criminals found a PIN number for the bank account and used it to access the pensioner’s cash. She saw the front door open and then went and did some knitting, waiting for a carer to arrive. At the hearing, Harrison, who is currently incarcerated at HMP Dartmoor, pleaded guilty to two burglaries in Newquay. She also stated that her life is no longer worth living and that the lockets had pictures of her ex-husband, sister and brother who was a pilot killed in the Second World War. According to Mr Lee, Chenoweth was responsible for taking one of the victim’s cards into Tesco and buying £3 worth of shopping and getting £30 cashback. She woke up at 3.15am and noticed something was out of place. Her home was burgled while she was asleep. The burglars appeared at Truro Crown Court on January 8 and admitted their various roles in the criminal process. The three appeared at Truro Crown Court on Friday January 9 for sentencing and prosecuting barrister Philip Lee said: ‘The 95-year-old burglary victim was at her home in Crantock Street on November 9, 2017, where she had lived for her whole life. In the clip, the victim explained how she was born in the house but now feels ‘completely lost’ and wishes she had a knife so she can kill herself. Chenoweth, from St Austell, admitted handling stolen goods and fraud by false representation and Parr, of Newquay, held her hands up to a concealing criminal property charge. Soon after, on November 10, two bank cards and a Post Office account were all used in local shops and at cash machines. It was apparent there had been a break-in and there was a key safe on the floor with the key missing. Parr was caught on CCTV at the bank withdrawing £4,000 of the victim’s cash and Chenoweth identified at Tesco by the store’s camera system. At the hearing, Judge Robert Linford requested the pensioner’s victim impact video be played to the three people who raided her house.
Harrison has 59 offences on his record including several for burglary, Chenoweth 30 mainly for thefts and Parr one for drugs. On the day of the offence he was off his head on the drugs that have blighted his life. He was told to go and try it after it had been declined and hand over whatever he got from the transaction. At this point in the proceedings Judge Linford interrupted and questioned how much Parr and Chenoweth knew about how the card was obtained. I could see the colour drain out of his face and he wishes to express his sorrow and hopes an apology will be sent to the victim. Michael Gregson, mitigating for Chenoweth, said he has a longstanding drug habit and was at the time homeless and drug dependent. He said: ‘I showed him the video (victim’s interview) this morning and he was appalled. Mr Gregson said Chenoweth was given the bank card by those who he knew through the drug trade. Representing Harrison, Chris Andrews said that he has limited mitigation apart from his early guilty plea.
He said: ‘The victim is 95 and lived on her own in the house she’d lived in for all of her 95 years.
Both of their legal representatives denied they had knowledge of the source of the card and Judge Linford ruled that there should be a separate hearing to determine whether they knew the card was stolen from an elderly victim. Within a few hours her cards were used to fleece her account and the effects of the burglary have been profound. Judge Linford then proceeded to sentence Harrison. He cast his doubts on Chenoweth and in particular Parr’s account and told them to return to the court at a future date, bailing them in the meantime. He said: ‘The victim is 95 and lived on her own in the house she’d lived in for all of her 95 years. The sentences of the other two are not known. Overnight she was alone asleep in bed when you burgled her home. You took a purse containing bank cards and cash from beneath her bed as she slept as well as very precious jewellery and even ate a small amount of her food. Judge Linford jailed Harrison for four and a half years.

Erika wrote: ‘I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of one of my closest friends, Jade, who has recently lost her mum. Jade told earlier this week how ‘heartbroken’ she felt, knowing her mother was in the restaurant’s disabled toilet while people there were eating and drinking. Although she faced many challenges and made many mistakes during her addiction, Sabrina didn’t deserve to pass away the way she did. Despite the many mistakes Sabrina made in her life, she was a mother, a daughter, a sister, and more. Erika said in her GoFundMe appeal how Jade wanted to honour her mother with ‘the compassion and respect that was often missing during her lifetime and give her the funeral she deserves’. Jade said: ‘There weren’t any drugs at the scene and CCTV footage showed her entering the building on the Thursday. Our thoughts are with her loved ones at this time. Erika wrote: ‘Sabrina told Jade how much she loved her, and Jade held onto hope that this time things might change. I’m angry because she could have been found sooner, they should have done the usual toilet checks. A Blackpool Council spokesperson said: ‘Our public protection team has recently been made aware of this tragic death. We think she broke into the disabled toilet – we think she picked the lock to get in so she didn’t have to ask for a key. Tragically, Sabrina didn’t get better in time. Jade has spent a lifetime wondering if this day would come, but nothing can truly prepare you for that devastating phone call or the overwhelming experience she is going through. She was released from prison on Wednesday without Jade’s knowledge and sadly passed away in a public bathroom the following day. It’s heartbreaking because we know she was left in the cold, on her own. Officers attended and sadly the body of a woman in her 40s was found dead inside the address. She said: ‘The police have told us that customers were complaining that they couldn’t get into the toilet, but they assumed something had happened with the lock. Sabrina struggled with addiction throughout her life. And in a Facebook tribute addressing her mother, Jade wrote: ‘Despite what anyone might think they know about you, you were intelligent, you made everyone laugh, and you had a good heart and beautiful soul buried beneath all the trauma and addiction. Jade said that CCTV footage showed Sabrina entering the restaurant on November 28 last year and going into the disabled toilet. I know she was dead but it’s the fact she was there while people were eating and drinking. Jade added: ‘She suffered with addiction and she was in and out of homelessness for the last 25 years but she was a really nice person. They then opened up the disabled toilet and found her on the Saturday morning. A Lancashire Police spokesperson said: ‘We were called at shortly after 1pm on Saturday, November 30 to a report of a sudden death at an address on Waterloo Road in Blackpool. She was a person, a person who was in pain and dealt with that pain as best as she could. She described how Jade had spoken to her mother three weeks before her death, telling how Sabrina was ‘determined to get sober again’. Jade, from Fleetwood in Lancashire, also paid tribute to her mother – hailing her as a ‘really nice person’ who was ‘funny and kind’.
Eight masked gunmen robbed a jewelers in New Jersey of around one million dollars worth of items in broad daylight during a 60-second operation. Footage shows the thugs pointing a gun at the employee nearest the door before knocking him off his chair, while another drags a female employee wearing a red dress to the floor. They came in like they owned the store, they’re like, “All right, everybody down,” breaking stuff, filling up their bags, walking away like they had no worries in the world,’ local Misbah Chaudhry told the New York Post. Virani Jewelers, an Indian business with only four retail stores, sells Indian-style antique jewelry, including diamonds, kundan, emerald, ruby, cubic zirconia, pearl and sapphire. The woman wearing red lay motionless on the ground while glass shards rained down all around her. The employees looked on in horror as the robbers smashed nearly a dozen display cases in almost exactly one-minute’s time. One can be seen dialing a number after a few moments, presumably to call the police, while the others look around at the damage. CCTV showed the robbers running for the escape vehicle, jumping in the back of the car and speeding away. Over 96 hours later and just more silence from Governor Phil Murphy,’ said Hirsh Singh, a political candidate running for state governor. The shocked employees remained motionless for a few moments after the gunmen fled, processing the shock of the smash-and-grab attack. Video shows the masked men stuffing bags full of golden necklaces, bracelets and bangles before fleeing the store. Shouting it was time to go, the robbery ended almost as quickly as it began, with straggler gunmen remaining a few moments to scour whatever jewelry they could carry before scarpering. The store’s Instagram page shows some of their jewelry on display. Terrified staff were forced to the ground at gun point during the robbery which happened at around 7:45pm last Friday on Oak Tree Road in Iselin.
Some people have trouble wearing stirling silver earrings or other unusual earrings, since they’re allergic for them. Nickel and cobalt are among the most typical problem makers, and they’re present in almost all from the metal beads and findings in jewellery. In case you are one of these people, here’s what you do . Some suggestions that you can consider: Try painting three or more coats of clear nail polish on your metal findings and beads to keep the metal away from your skin! Do a test run before you put too much effort into the project to make sure this will work. However be careful of many products you find claiming to become ‘
